The Opal features a Wood Core which dampens vibrations and offers a smooth ride regardless of snow conditions. Salomon beefs up the Opal, reinforcing it with a Single Ti Laminate and a Bamboo Layer to improve edge grip, energy transfer, and liveliness so that you can rip carved turns with ease. The great edge grip is further exaggerated by the Monocoque Construction which provides the additional edge grip necessary to take your turning to the next level. When ripping up the slopes you want a smooth, solid feeling ski under your feet so Salomon designed the Opal with their 3D Stealth Tip which lowers the tip profile to allow the ski to rollover terrain variations and keep the front of the ski calm and smooth. When exploring new terrain you never know when a rock or tree might try to inflict damage on your precious new skis, so Salomon uses Total Edge Reinforcement Technology to increase durability. And to protect your knees the Opal boasts Salomon's Pulse Pad technology, an Elastomer Layer for shock absorption.
